Description Albert Vaca Cintora 2015-05-04 02:15:54 UTC
I use a secondary display attached to my laptop as my main display at home. Under Plasma 5 the display stays always on showing my screen content. Either the "screen energy saving" setting should apply to every display or there should be a way to make all displays go black after a time idle (under screen locking maybe?). At least I would like the display to go black to avoid burning it :S

Maybe the lock screen turns the display off after a while, but I don't use a lock screen while on AC so that could be the cause I'm experiencing this?

Reproducible: Always

Can you try "xset dpms force off" and see if that works properly? If it does not, then it's a driver/X issue.
Comment 2 Xu Zhao 2015-05-04 18:40:51 UTC
I have the same problem. "xset dpms force off" works properly and both monitor turns off.

"xset dpms force off" works as expected for me as well.

I've just tested this on my laptop with an external display and after setting Screen Energy Saving to 1 minute both my laptop and external monitor are turned off.

Can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved. I'm setting status to "needsinfo" pending your response, please change back to "reported" or "resolved" when you respond, thanks.
