Pressing Page Up/Down in the laptop keyboard performs the same action as backspace/space. That is, it moves up/down the page a "fixed amount". Pressing Page Up/Down in the USB keyboard results in a previous page/next page. That is, it goes to the beginning of the previous/next page Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. press pg up on laptop 2. press pg up on usb keyboard 3. compare Actual Results: effect is different Expected Results: shouldn't be
Not here, they both believe the same. Please make sure xev reports the same thing both when pressing laptop and usb keyboard?
Ah! Sorry, the inconsistency isn't between USB keyboard / laptop keyboard. The difference in behaviour is with respect to on which Page U/D keys are pressed, those in the numpad or the other ones. And indeed both return different keycodes. The Page keys in the numpad return the usual behaviour (coincident with space/backspace). The individual page keys now move to the beginning of the previous/next page. Note that up to 0.21.3 (which I still have installed) the behaviour of both is consistent.
(forgot to change the status of the report, requested info up there ^)
