After installing widgets from Plasma Addons Installer, it does not show up as an option to add to desktop Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install any widget which you dont have from Plasma Addons Installer 2. Close and go to desktop, Right click and select Add Widget option 3. Scroll through the list Actual Results: Newly installed widget is not in list Expected Results: Newly installed widget should be in the list This is true for any widget regardless. Though the plasma Addon says widget is installed, it is missing from the list in Add widgets screen
Works here, you've marked you're using the beta Can you try with the final release?
Have been on the latest release of Kubuntu, its still not working. Anything I can do to help me in debugging the issue.
Which one did you install?
I was trying to install Network Monitor widget https://opendesktop.org/content/show.php?content=169377 I tried with a few others as well, same result.
works fine here, i tried yahoo weather widget.. perhaps some plasmoids are not provided as correct packages, but as stuff to be installed by make install (maybe because they need a c++ part) so installing those would be broken. That was a problem already with kde4 plasmoids ghns, opendesktop also doesn't give enough info on what are the ones that can be installed and ones that can't so i don't see it solvable while we use kdelook
Can anyone suggest me a work around with installing these widgets please. I would really want to get this Network Monitor widget https://opendesktop.org/content/show.php?content=169377
try to download the file then install it with kpackagetool5 -i filename
Is there a way to determine when addon isn't working properly after installing - and maybe mark it with some label - like 'may not work' or something in addons list?
cannot confirm on Arch Linux, plasma 5.12.1. I tested simple menu and netowrk monitor mentioned in comment 4.
This was fixed a while ago.
