Description dbacc 2015-04-26 21:36:28 UTC
I have a system setup with currently 3 displays on a Nvdia Optimus system, i.e. I fire up some virtual displays at start of sddm in order to be able to connect my monitors (intel-virtual-output).
At this stage I also pass some xrandr command, that fits my needs.

Now, if I plug in my TV as a forth screen, things break down immediately after login or right after plugging in the TV - depending on which occurs first.
That means 3 of the screens are getting dark, and my main screen (laptop LVDS1 ) shows half of some of the desktops that were there before.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Disconnect TV
2. Start KDE
3. Connect TV

Actual Results:
Screens turn (partially) black

Expected Results:
4 different desktops showing up

Here is a log file created after plugging in the TV:

And here the output of kscreen-console bug:

Could you please re-test with KScreen 5.3.0 (from Plasma 5.3.0)? There were some changes in this area in 5.3.0 that should resolve this problem. If the problem is still there, please provide a new log file.

Sorry for the delay. I tested again today with KScreen 5.3.1 and it got even worse.

Now, if the TV is plugged in at startup or if I plug it after logging in, plasma will break down after some seconds. So I cannot run run kscreen-console bug.

Here is some log information I could find.

and with more details in the attachment.

Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please see if you can reproduce the issue with Plasma 5.25 or 5.26?

If you can, please change the status to CONFIRMED when replying. Thanks a lot!
