Description Jens 2015-04-24 15:27:25 UTC
Digikam shows an error message "Could not launch the KDE Help Center: Could not find service 'khelpcenter'." when starting it in Ubuntu Unity desktop.

If this service is not available when not running KDE, would it be possible to open a HTML version of the Digikam handbook in a browser, either online or locally?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Start Digikam in Ubuntu Unity desktop (or Lubuntu desktop, or anything non-KDE I guess)
Click on "Help > Digikam Handbook"

Actual Results:
Digikam shows an error message "Could not launch the KDE Help Center: Could not find service 'khelpcenter'." when starting it in Ubuntu Unity desktop.

Expected Results:
Digikam should *somehow* display its handbook (external browser, manual start of khelpcenter, etc.)

This is not a major bug, but it's a major usability issue for the default desktop on the most common Linux distribution. Plus there's an easy fix (start khelpcenter manually, or start a web browser with the handbook).

This problem do not exist with next 5.7.0 as the handbook is open now with
online version through an embed web browser based on QtWebView
