drkonqui offers to install debug packages. However, the authentication dialog did not pop up in front, and it took me a while to realize that there was no progress. After successful installation, the backtrace was still (correctly) designated as "not helpful." For the problem at hand (crash of plasmashell), I've manually installed, the following packages libglib2.0-0-dbg libxcb1-dbg libqt5script5-dbg kdelibs5-dbg, finally resulting in a useable backtrace. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 0. uninstall all -dbg packages 1. crash 2. report bug Expected Results: kdelibs5-dbg should be installed automatically. ideally, all libraries mentioned in the backtrace should automatically be checked if -dbg packages are available. If the backtrace is still considered unusable after installing kdelibs5-dbg, drkonqui should choose the most likely candidates to improve the backtrace and install them, step by step, until the backtrace is informative enough. Alternatively, offer the user to install all relevant -dbg packages at once.
The installation of debug packages is done using distribution-specific addons to DrKonqi. Please report this issue directly to the bug tracker of your distribution.
