When I use krunner to view man pages, an alert dialog titled "Error -- KIOExec" appears, with the message Could not rename partial file /home/gjditchf/.cache/kioexec/krun/9792_0_man. Please check permissions. When I close that dialog, a second dialog titled "Sorry" appears, with the message KDEInit could not launch '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kf5/kioexec' ~/.cache/kioexec/krun contains a file named "10130_0_man.part", owned by me and in my group with "rw-rw-rw-" permissions , and an empty directory named "10130_0_man" owned by me in my group with "rwxrwxrw-" permissions. Note that the file name given in the alert does not have a "part" suffix. Similar events occur when I try to view Info pages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Type Alt-f 2. In the Krunner dialog, type "man:man" or "info:info" 3. Press Enter Actual Results: Error dialogs, as described above. Expected Results: A browser window displaying a man page or info page should appear. Kubuntu 15.05, fully updated from a fresh install made from the Beta 1 release.
The same happening to me with URLs. It worked for a day, and then suddenly broke. The only unusual thing I done is SSH to localhost to another user with -X flag, but did not run application yet. I getting following messages: 1. Could not rename partial file /home/xray/.cache/kioexec/krun/3381_0_. Please check permissions. 2. KDEInit could not launch '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kf5/kioexec' Listing in /home/xray/.cache/kioexec/krun after closing both windows: xray@xray:~/.cache/kioexec/krun$ ls -l total 68 drwxrwxr-x 2 xray xray 4096 мая 6 11:12 3381_0_ -rw-rw-rw- 1 xray xray 64112 мая 6 11:12 3381_0_.part Also it gives the same with man:man or info:info, as specified in bugreport.
I have just upgraded from Kubuntu 14.10 to 15.04 and have this issue when I try to launch URL icons from a panel.
For me it started happening after I started dolphin once as root with my user account by accident. That broke plasma desktop loading so I did "chown -R <user> <home>" which fixed that. However if I click URLs in Konversation now, I get that "~/.cache/kioexec/krun/2746_0_" coud not be renamed error.
Fixed itself as of version 5.4.3.
