openSUSE 13.1; digikam 4.9.0; and 59 000 pictures I have seen several crashes doing the extra:maintenace when a) all albums are choosen b) all items below are choosen after this I tried to only choose one item per run to see what is the problem: crash always happen when I do generate thumbnails and when I do generate fingerprints (last time with a KDE crash report popping up but with no useful info inside) Is this a problem of too much pictures? Is it possible and useful to scan subfolder by subfolder? (to get nearly same result in using digikam?) On my openSUSE I can't get debug-files installed; for this I can't give you more information, sorry for this. Johannes Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start digikam and wait until check of new files ends 2. start: extra:maintenance 3. wait Actual Results: digikam died silently, sometimes with KDE-crash report popping up Expected Results: renew: fingerprints, thumbnails

ok now on digiKam 4.12.0 first add all my picture collections to digiKam - takes some time but is still working start maintenance (all options are "on") runs since hours, but still running; actually compares META-data of pictures with database: status is 2%. Before this face recognition etc. was running till end. Finger crossed - it seems to run now One important note too: during some of the tests I deleted all databases and after this I got also with only a few pictures success. This is the last test with a very lot of pictures (>80k)
