Krita freezes when editing multiline text. I was trying to cancel highlighting the texts by inserting a space. The interface shifts between grey-out and normal, but not responsive either way. I force quit the application and Krita crashed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Insert a section of multiline text; 2. Make the texts red, now the texts are highlighted; 3. Switch to Shape Handling Tool, drags the handles around; 4. Use Text tool to edit the texts; 5. Try input a space and using the arrow keys to move input mark; 6. Krita freezes;

I'm not able to reproduce, is this still happening to you?
Hello Tyson, I've just checked following the steps above, with the latest version of Krita: 2.9.5 (git 9fe0557) on Ubuntu 14.04. I've tried several times, but I haven't been able to reproduce the issue.
There were crashes. Probably related to the implement of multiple document interface and it's now fixed...probably? But there is still huge slowdown or outright not responsive to my input all time when I use Multiline text tool. 1. Major slowdown. Every letter I input takes more than 100ms to show up. And if I select some text and try to change its color or something, it will take a few seconds, sometimes even much longer for the according Tool options (now in the toolbar) to show up. I think it was the slowdown that I took it as freezing. Fairly so if the slowdown locks up Krita for a minute with its UI gray out. 2. When using Multiline tool and Shape handling tool with a tablet stylus, the cursor flickers back and forth among mouse pointer / hand / text indicator. After the first input, hovering the cursor through the canvas, I can see brush size bar and its value changes like crazy but it's also grey out. Sometimes the cursor becomes a brush and I can not even edit. Was the brush tool activated when I was using text tool? FYI, there are a handful of other tools and UI components in Krita that are fine with mouse but problematic with tablet stylus. 3. CPU usage sky-rockets during each action when using Multiline text tool. I'm using Thinkpad X230t, it sports an i7-3520M with 16GB dual DDR3-1866 memory which I suppose fairly mainstream if not powerful. It's always dead silent except on two occasions: Building Krita / Using Krita's multiline text tool. ;b Is there anyway to track performance issue for the text tool?
Hi... Let's track all the multiline text tool bugs in 306181 -- it needs rewriting in any case, and a redesign. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 306181 ***
