Description kilbertphone 2015-04-06 00:13:45 UTC
It would be nice to include the total space in the status bar: eg "33/40gb free"; similar to when I select all folders, right click, properties - in that window it is called device usage.

Thanks for the report!

Note that you can enable a space information widget that does at least a part of what you want by right-clicking the status bar and enabling it in the menu that appears. Maybe this would be sufficient for you?

I have that enabled, but it just seems like it is missing information (that at least I would like to see). It seems like almost anything you would want to know about the drive is there in a widget or panel except total drive size. I realize I may be an exception to the average user with 9 internal drives plus some removable, but I seem to need this information often. I usually use df -h or just select all and properties which gives me what I need.
Thanks for the consideration.

Like kilbertphone, I would also like to see this information. I've submitted a patch that adds it:

After discussion, there was no consensus that my patch was better than the status quo. So it looks like we won't be doing this after all. Sorry.
