Description DrSlony 2015-03-29 12:15:32 UTC
Whenever I try to rank a photo "rejected" using Alt+1, the focus is left on the "Browse" menu, so I have to press Alt again to un-focus it so I can move to the next photo.

Running in Plasma 5.2.2.

Reproducible: Always

Still in 4.9.0

Is Alt+1 set as a global key shortcut in plasma 5.x? Look in the KDE settings.

It is not.

Alt+Left and Alt+Right is used to change Browse view. When you assign Pick label to image with Alt+1, left Alt key just after before to press left/right to change icon-view item focus.

Else the dysfunction is not reproducible here.

I don't understand this part, "left Alt key just after before to press left/right to change icon-view item focus".

I'm quite certain this worked well in older digiKam versions.
I tried now, it's still valid in 4.10.0.

Alt+1, Alt+2 and Alt+3 assign the red/orange/green flags and each of these leaves focus on the menu bar, so I have to press Alt again to remove focus from the menu bar. But Alt+0 does not leave focus on the menu bar, it works correctly.

Here is a screencast. You can see me label the images, and the focus remains on "Browse" in the menu bar. Then I press Alt again to remove it. You can also see that when I press Alt+0 to remove the labels, the focus does not remain on the menu bar.

In previous versions I would quickly triage my photos with Alt labels while paging through them with PgUp/PgDn, but this makes that inconvenient.

Is the response above in comment 4 saying "just press Alt again and get used to it" ... ?

This might be Plasma 5's fault, I'll check closer soon.

DrSlony,

Not reproducible here under Plasma 5 and digiKam 5.0.0. Can you confirm ?

Not reproducible under KDE Plasma 5.7.2 or Awesome 3.5.9 using digiKam 5.0.0 (Help > About > Version shows 5.1.0), commit 0ee5030d1a3746249638c0e85e56c4b53fde6a25.
