Description Bardur Arantsson 2015-03-28 21:19:23 UTC
Hi there,

It seems that krunner gets confused about screen geometry and turns invisible (or goes off-screen) on my dual-screen setup. (See attached image for screen setup details.)

When I press the hotkey while focus is on the left (physically) screen, everything works OK -- the krunner UI pops on the top-middle of the screen. When I press the hotkey while focus is on the right (physically) screen, the active window loses focus, I can enter commands + ENTER and have krunner execute them... only the krunner UI is not visible at all.

At this point I've messed about a bit with the krunner configuration in ~/.config, but all of this
was *after* first experiencing the problems.

I'm running what Arch Linux claims is krunner 4.8.0-1.

Reproducible: Always

I have a similar issue with three monitors. It is not only krunner but also the KDE button in the lower left corner which disappears from all screens.
A quick fix is to set the primary display to anything and then back to your "real" one - then everything works again until the next reboot.

Your workaround works for me too. (Though I don't have the disappearing KDE button.)

The button itself stays there - just the window it opens behaves like krunner for me.
