When you encrypt a file with an encryption method that uses a symmetric key and you are not using the "gpg-agent", KGpg asks for the pass-phrase only once. In my opinion it's risky, because you could type a wrong pass-phrase and make the encrypted file unrecoverable. You only would realize about it after some time, when you tried to decrypt the file. I believe that it should ask you to confirm the pass-phrase again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. In Dolphin, right-click on a file and choose "Encrypt File". 2. In the window that shows up, mark the option "Options >> Symmetrical encryption". Actual Results: It asks for the pass-phrase only once. Expected Results: It should ask to confirm the pass-phrase.
that is part of plan to make encryption as tedious and hated as possible.
