In order to move some files around while working on a project in Kate, it would be most convenient to start file management tasks directly from Kate. Currently, you need to fire up Dolphin using the terminal plugin or the Filesystem Browser.

Creating a function to open a directory from the Documents view in Dolphin may be an option. Or maybe a Dolphin plugin, very similar to the Terminal plugin.

Kate5's tabbar has this features: if you right click (context menu) on a tab, it has an entry "Open Containing Folder".
