While submitting the k3b log, I decided to install brasero to try it out. The burn process for the same iso worked fine for brasero.

You can use CDEmu for test enviroment: cdemu create-blank --writer-id=WRITER-ISO --medium-type=dvd+r 0 ~/virt.iso
