Neither Windows nor 7-Zip nor unzip (terminal) can read zip-archives from ark. Error-message is that it is not an archive or the archie is brocken. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: obvious Actual Results: obvious Expected Results: obvious
Please attach some archive created with Ark that presents this problem.
Created attachment 91386 [details] invalid zip-file created by Ark This is the output of the command unzip: “End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on the last disk(s) of this archive. unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of test-archive.zip or test-archive.zip.zip, and cannot find test-archive.zip.ZIP, period.” I think everybody can test it by creating a zip file with Ark and try to open it in the terminal or on MS Windows (Ark can open it).

This is a Kubuntu problem, as described in bug 340456 -- they have incorporated a patch from Debian to move to libarchive for handling zip files, but stuck with an older, broken version of the patch that does not handle archive creation correctly. Please contact the Kubuntu packagers, there's even an open bug report about this (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-baseapps/+bug/1387924). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 340456 ***
