Description Mike 2015-02-18 18:28:07 UTC
Created a sample company with a single account and tried to add a transaction to but there is no way to save the transaction since the ENTER icon is disabled and and if I try to go into any other operation it displays :

"End Transaction Edit - KMyMoney:
Please select what you want to do: discard the changes, save the changes or continue to edit the transaction.
You can also set an option to save the transaction automatically when e.g. selecting another transaction. "

and that SAVE icon is disabled and only the choice DISCARD is enabled.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Account Register
2. Add "From" CustomerA
3. Add amount of let's say "20.00"
4. No way to save. Enter is disabled.

Actual Results:
I can't proceed.

Expected Results:
Enter icon should be enabled and transaction should be added to register

Found the problem. I skipped account setup and noticed the opening date in the future. Now it's a minor bug but it should be noted during entering a transaction if an account is not ready to have items entered into them.

On my system the date is shown in red then and a tool tip explains why. Do you think this message should be shown more prominent?

Screenshot of tooltip and date in red

In case the transaction date is prior to the opening date, the date is shown in red and a tooltip with an explanation pops up. Could be, that this is not in 4.7.1 but only in master.

Yes it should definitely be more prominent. I did notice the numbers in red but was scratching my head why thinking
- It could have been that I needed more information.
- That I didn't completely fill out all the company information
- That the download was corrupted
- That maybe it was the Win 8.1 operating system
- That something else was locking the transaction file

I went back to it a few times on a few different days running a couple different tests. Someway it should be more pronounced.

Thanks.

I changed this to a wishlist item. Before we start to code we should contact the VDG. But maybe it is enough to set a tool-tip for the OK button.

Was anything ever done about this? In 5.1.2 I see the date in red and the (not always visible) tooltip. (who/what is the VDG?) Are there any pending actions, or should this be closed (with what status?)

Tooltip and widget when post date is prior to opening date of account

Current master shows a red frame around the widget in this scenario and the tooltip explains the problem.
