Description Yuri 2015-02-08 03:43:45 UTC
I am getting this error on vanilla Arch kde4 install sight after 'startx', during the kde4 splash, see attached screenshot.

Googling the error finds tons of references dating from 2009 to now, suggesting checking permissions, disk full conditions, etc, etc.

The problem with this message: it doesn't say what error did it encounter. None of the disks are at 100% capacity, and all permissions look right (/tmp, /var/tmp, /home/<user>).

This error message should say which system call failed, and what was the error code for that failure.

Reproducible: Always

Can you reproduce this in a vm which can you provide?

If you could build the vm in automated fashion with something like packer (https://github.com/hashicorp/packer), that would ease reproduction.

Note that if you can't provide a template to reproduce in an automated fashion, specific versions of *everything* are needed to reproduce.
