Hi Albert, it works for me. It takes some time, the kate complains about some too long lines, but eventualy it gets loaded.

Interesting, it fails immediately here.
I'm using Plasma 5.2
Starting kate from the terminal (konsole 3.0.0)

What about you?

No plasma, launched from konsole 2.14.2 (+shell env wrappers to launch kate in kf5 env). Frameworks build three weeks ago. Kate & ktexteditor current master.

I've tried it with and without kded5 running, but both were successfull.

meh, this seems like a kubuntu bug, on archlinux it works and on kubuntu not and they have the same package versions :/
