I have an external monitor connected to a VGA port, with a lower resolution. When I switch between monitors with xrandr (both under KWin and under Openbox), Konsole crashes

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect external monitor with lower resolution
2. Swith to external monitor only 
3. Konsole crashes

Actual Results:  
Konsole crashed

Expected Results:  
Nothing

I will supply whatever is necessary on demand

I can confirm that this is 100% reproducible and annoying. Also, note that it doesn't happen with other applications/terminals.

Looks like a duplicate of bug 199161.

Bug 199161 was fixed in 2010, apparently for Konsole 2.3. This bug still occurs with Konsole 3.0.1

It's a pretty annoying bug therefore I’m willing to help to solve it. For the time being, I don’t manage to get a useful backtrace. See also Bug 352737.
