One interesting feature of Photoshop missing from Krita is the ability to use a dual brush, that is, to have the settings of one brush affect the settings of another one, such as having brush 2 subtract from brush 1 or color dodge brush 1. This not only saves time necessary to go over the same area with a different brush, but also makes it easy to achieve interesting pseudo-random effects which make the brushwork look less "synthetic". One option of impelementing this behaviour in Krita would be to have an additional setting in the brush settings panel, which would let the user select from the predefined brushes and the available blending modes, possibly allowing for overrides of things like scatter or rotation. (even selecting another brush and a blending mode would be good for starters) A further proposed improvement is to implement an n-brush system, in which the previously described setup is nested in a stack of modifying brushes, which can be extended by the user. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Use Krita. Actual Results: No dual brushes. Expected Results: Dual brushes.
A dual brush basically uses one brush tip as a "mask" for the other. So if you had a basic circle as your main brush, and say, a leafy scatter brush as your 2nd brush, your leaf scatter brush would only work within the boundaries of the 1st brush. The cool thing about this is, settings of both brushes can be changed independently. At the moment in krita, to get this kind of effect, you have to draw a stroke, maybe hit "alpha lock" on the layer, and then use another brush to paint "inside" that stroke. This is essentially what a dual brush does, but a dual brush is 100% more fun and efficient than doing it as described. I replied here because I think it easier for dev to understand. Its not a "missing" feature as such, but users, such as myself, and other users going for a more painterly look will benefit a lot from this in terms of speed and efficiency. This only applies to pixel brushes.
