Description Pavel Nedrigailov 2015-01-22 13:34:43 UTC
I see that at my Fedora 21 I can't find anything using baloosearch in the Dolphin.

Baloosearch installed:

$ baloosearch -v
Qt: 4.8.6
KDE Development Platform: 4.14.3
Baloo Search: 0.1

After that I saw that baloosearch doesn't index anything:

$ balooctl status
Baloo File Indexer is running
Indexed 0 / 0 files
Failed to index 0 files

There is nothing excluded in the search config.
Please see screenshot attached.

Reproducible: Always

I've tried to search in directories symlinked to ~ and in just ~ directories. Same results.
Comment 2 Vishesh Handa 2015-01-22 14:19:21 UTC
No files seem to be indexed.

Could you please paste your `.baloofilerc` file. It will list which folders should be indexed, and which should not.

You've also mentioned something about systemlinks. I'm not sure what you mean by that. Baloo currently does not support system links correctly.
Comment 3 Pavel Nedrigailov 2015-01-26 22:14:54 UTC
I haven't any .baloofilerc at my home directory.
Baloo can't find normal files, not only symlinked files.
Comment 4 Vishesh Handa 2015-01-27 11:24:16 UTC
In KDE4 your baloofilerc file should be under ~/.kde/share/config/baloofilerc.

It's not just about systemlinked files. It's about any files under a folder that is system linked.
Comment 5 Pavel Nedrigailov 2015-01-29 01:52:29 UTC
OK, ~/.kde/share/config/ballofilerc is attached.

I understand about system linked directories. I've /home partition mounted to /. It is not system linked. And searching any file in just ~ not gave me any results.

Hello! This project has been replaced with a newer system so I will be closing this bug. If you could please re-test on the latest Baloo. If the issue still present, please open a new bug under "frameworks-baloo". Thank you!
