I'm able to reproduce this issue only in Ubuntu Unity, not in Kubuntu, nor in Gnome.
In Ubuntu 14.04 Unity, using the pen tablet to create a Multiline text, it triggers a flickering of the cursor, the toolbars, the status bar and the Tool Options box (see video below).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Drag a new multiline text.
2. Stay with the cursor over the canvas area.

Actual Results:  
The cursor, toolbars, status bar and toolbox, start to flicker.

Expected Results:  
Should not blink.

Tested on Krita 2.9 Beta 2 using an Intuos 4 pen tablet.

Yes -- with my intuos 3 I see almost the same thing, only not so fast. Somehow, the system keeps switching between brush and text tool.

+1 from me , this happens when we use tablet it is fine when used with mouse.

This also happens with the artistic text tool, btw.

We're working on a new text tool. The old text tool is now unmaintained and we won't be working on it anymore, so let's close all the text tool bugs.
