Hi, I'm a complete Linux novice. Have just installed Mint 17.1 on a laptop that previously had XP. I have also installed Kdenlive video editor. When I open a clip and try to edit it, the arrow cursor is meant to change to a scissors icon when X is pressed, but instead it simply dissapears or rather becomes 'invisible' whilst on the time frame section of the screen, but reappears as an arrow cursor when moved to other areas of the screen. Furthermore ,when it should be showing a scissors icon after pressing X, it is 'invisible' on the time frame section of the screen, but it reappears as a normal arrow cursor after pressing S whilst still on the same place. Put simply, the scissors icon is invisble. Is this a bug in Mint 17.1/ Kdenlive combo , some additional drivers missing, or simply just a settings tweak needed? Any help appreciated. The environment is Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon 32-bit , version 2.4.5, Linux Kernel 3.13.0-37-generic Kdenlive 0.9.8 , KDE Development Platform 4.14.2
UPDATE: I've noticed, after comparing Kdenlive on another laptop running Mint 16 Cinnamon, that all the drop down menu items are not showing any icons (to the left) of each menu item on the Mint 17.1 version mentioned above whilst they do show on the Mint 16 version
Hello, Icons were not well handled for KF5 way, this was fixed on feb. 22. Can you confirm the issue is gone?
In latest git, both the icon and the cursor don't show the razor scissors symbol: http://youtu.be/dE_ncRRNM60
I'm wasn't experiencing this since the development phase of 15.04. I believe this can be confirmed fixed?

similatr to a Bug 351695 i reported. a solution would be to embbed breeze icons and guarantee this to work on all distros independent of desktop environment or icon theme.
breeze icons are now embedded in source distribution
