Description Argy M 2015-01-08 20:54:12 UTC
Since upgrading from KDE 4.14.12 to 4.14.13, clicking on the Spotify icon after closing the window does not open it again. Right-clicking on it still shows "Hide Spotify", then when right-clicking again it shows 'Open Spotify" and that's the only way you can open it again. If it hels, the icon has also become larger than before. Curiously enough, with a fresh install of Spotify on a different computer (directly on 4.14.13) the icon is still small, the right-click menu is stuck on "Hide Spotify" (it doesn't toggle) and you have to double-click it to open Spotify again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Spotify
2. Close the Spotify window
3. Click on the Spotify tray icon

Actual Results:
Nothing happens

Expected Results:
The Spotify window opens again.

I can confirm this bug.
Using KDE 4.14.3

It occurs in Plasma 5.2, too.

Hello!

This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug has already been resolved in Plasma 5.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
