Description torte 2015-01-02 16:03:17 UTC
After a crash of kontact, the "Local Mail" resource is empty (expect than default folders). kontact has created the folder ".local-mail.directory" and is expecting subfolder here.
(Although the crash is not repreducable, following steps show the same result.)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
(I see no possibility to change it back, so use test user!)
1. Change Local mail resource to "../local-mail/" (.local-mail.directory is created)
2. Change back to "../local-mail"

Actual Results:
You can try to delete .local-mail.directory, restart akonadi… but all the time .local-mail.directory is created and previous mails are not reachable.

Expected Results:
.local-mail.directory should never be created.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kontact (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
