(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kdesktop
Version: KDE 2.2.1
Severity: normal
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: gcc 2.96
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

When using StarOffice 6.0 beta the Kdesktop completly freezes after a few seconds of use. Only why to solve this problem is to start a non graphic session a kill the StarOffice application. Before opgrading to the last updates from RH the machine did a reboot when killing the hanging StarOffice application. Another thing is that when you kill the StarOffice application and the machine does not reboot no application is no longer able to connect to the Dcop server.

What strikes me to be odd is that on the same machine but in Gnome there is no problems what so ever. Is it RH's implementation of KDE that sucks (the prifered desktop is Gnome).

Then complain to Redhat....
I'm sorry I have no clue what's happening to you doesn't happen here
nor to many other people. Contact RH support or try the kde user list
to find advice from users. I don't detect a KDE bug here.
