When connecting a secondary monitor, Display Configuration tool puts it on the right of existing monitor. Changing the location of secondary monitor to the left of primary monitor (by dragging monitor icon, as there is no way how to perform it by keyboard (nice move in direction of Gnome-style lack of usability btw.), does not activate "apply" button thus it is not possible to move output to the left of primary screen. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Attach a secondary output 2. Move around secondary output to different location 3. How to confirm the new layout?!? Actual Results: It is not possible to confirm and enforce the new monitor layout. Expected Results: The "apply" button is activated. Workaround - change any other settings (i.e. monitor resolution) - it will activate "apply" button.
Are you using kscreen or krandr? Also, does the OK button confirm the changed?
(In reply to Christoph Feck from comment #1) > Are you using kscreen or krandr? Also, does the OK button confirm the > changed? Neither. I am using "Display Configuration running on KDE 4.14.3 maintained by Daniel Vratil" from "System Settings 4.11.14". I was trying to use "Report Bug" tool, but it was just dropping into bugzilla (some time a go it was a separate wizard that also sent some extra information along). Sorry if I choose a wrong component - hiding this kind of information from users seems to be a polite tone in Systemsettings. There is no "OK" button. Only "Apply" button (I see it in a localized version thus I assume originally it should be "Apply" not "OK").
I can confirm this bug! Dragging a monitor around in "Display Configuration - System Settings" aka Kscreen leaves the Apply button disabled. A workaround is to change and un-change *any* other configuration setting to make the "Apply" button become enabled, then click it.
This has been fixed in Plasma 5.1 (or 5.2) version of KScreen.
