I have enabled "Show button to display mail" and the notification includes the button, but it only works the first time, before the notification collapses in the system tray.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click the "show mail" button when the notification for new mail appears.


Actual Results:  
If the notification is fresh, i.e., it hasn't collapsed before, then the mail window appears. If it isn't, nothing happens.

Expected Results:  
The window with the contents of the mail should appear.

I'm using the oxygen theme.

I fixed some bug in 4.14

The same with akonadi 1.13.0.

I confirm it too after retesting.
it's a problem in systray.
I need to investigate more.

This bug has never been confirmed for a KDE PIM version that is based on KDE Frameworks (5.x). Those versions differ significantly from the old 4.x series. Therefore, I plan to close it in around two or three months. In the meantime, it is set to WAITINGFORINFO to give reporters the oportunity to check if it is still valid. As soon as someone confirms it for a recent version (at least 5.1, ideally even more recent), I'll gladly reopen it.

Please understand that we lack the manpower to triage bugs reported for versions almost two years beyond their end of life.

Kmail is started before it ?

When you click on this button do you have an error message ?

Thanks for having a look at it.

Yes, Kmail is running. When clicking on the button, nothing happens. No entry to journalctl and no console output from kmail. Same for kontact. I guess that's not very helpful. Is there any other data I can provide?

The notification I can find in the journal:

"New Notification: "E-Mail-Benachrichtigung" "Von: XXX \nBetreff: Re: XXX\nIn: Posteingang" -1 & Part of: 0"

Even before collapsing the button does not work for me, btw
