this problem of empty notes and persisted until a a reboot. the reboot that it feels like working is at random. Knotes 4.14.3 this is installed from the widget pop up menu. the icon on the taskbar/tray shows up like clock work, but when there are no notes(failed) found the icon shows blank, when there are notes found this icon shows the proper number. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.reboot 2.reboot 3.reboot Actual Results: no change Expected Results: to see the information that was typed into the little yellow note pad. Displayed the noted information.
Comment from GCI student: Use Kubuntu 14.10, and Knotes 4.14.3 there's no problem
Are you sure you talk about the KNotes application and not the Notes widget?

Yes i am sure, but neither would work, for now i have stopped using notes (knotes is my choice).-- David Gilmore
Thank you for the feedback. If you say "widget" I am really wondering what Knotes widget you talk about, I have no such thing, only 3 different "*note*" widgets, and I have a full KDE 4.14.2 installation. There are currently 3 widgets having the word "notes" in it, one is "leave a note", one is just "Notes" and there is "Akonode", none of those is KNotes which is a part of the KDE PIM package. I have no problems having the Knotes content back when I reopen my desktop after a shutdown, as the Knotes are stored in the Akonadi database, quite hard to loose something like that. neither "leave a Note" nor "Notes" are widgets that do use Akonadi, maybe you talk about one of those two?
