Description Martin Tlustos 2014-12-12 16:11:04 UTC
Zooming in simple map (the one with vector graphics) crashes not only marble, but the whole kde environment. I have to login again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open marble
2. select "simple map" (in German: "einfache karte")
3. zoom in and out until it crashes

Actual Results:
KDE crashes

Hey, Martin!

I just checked that on my KDE setup with Marble from Kubuntu packages and couldn't reproduce such behaviour. Looks really strange, are you sure that it's actually Marble bug?

Since this is a crash, we would need a backtrace if it is reproducible. Please see also https://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports

Given that the whole KDE session crashed, I figure that it's a bug elsewhere in the system. Marble seems to trigger that bug but the bug does not seem inside Marble itself. Perhaps you might want to file a bug report for your distribution such that that your report can be delegated to the faulty package.

I actually suspect it's a opengl bug with the intel driver. I tried gdb, but since kde crashes as a whole, everything including gdb is terminated.
I also does not crash when software rendering is chosen, so it definitely is not a bug in marble itself. Mark as closed
