When I click on add printer there is a scary red notification at the top of the "Select a printer to add" Failed to group devices: 'The name org.fedoraproject.Config.Printing was not provided by any .service files' I don't have any such file installed and none is available in the Ubuntu repositories. This is using the frameworks branch compiled from git today on Kubuntu development version Reproducible: Always
On second page "Pick a driver" the scary red warning says "Failed to search for a recommended driver: 'The name org.fedoraproject.Config.Printing was not provided by any .service files'"
I cannot reproduce the first warning, but on the second page I got this error: "Failed to search for a recommended driver: 'Did not receive a reply. Possible cause include: The remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply. the ..." The rest of the error is not visible.
About the first error... are you sure that is not a missing dep? http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?suite=vivid&arch=any&mode=exactfilename&searchon=contents&keywords=org.fedoraproject.Config.Printing.service
I also get the Failed to group devices: 'The name org.fedoraproject.Config.Printing was not provided by any .service files' error here (Chakra with latest KF5). So can someone explain, is this an packaging error or KF5 related?
This is an issue with missing system-config-printer DBus run-time dependency.
(In reply to Daniel Nicoletti from comment #5) > This is an issue with missing system-config-printer DBus run-time dependency. This bug is still present on Plasma 5.27.9. See attached image. Why does Plasma, running on Qt framework, needs installing another GTK app called "system-config-printer" to remove those two errors ?
