KDE 4.14.2 (why isn't this in the Version list?).. KDE5 on Dell E6530 crashes on resume from sleep. This used to happen every time the lid was closed, but used to work when put to sleep via the start menu. Now it fails no matter how its suspended. It seem to be a failure of the desktop as the system is still active, I can change console sessions and reboot from there, but I cannot work out how to restart the desktop from another terminal. I have attached a screen shot of the screen on resume. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Sleep the machine (either by closing lid or selecting sleep) 2. Resume 3. Actual Results: Screen shot attached. Expected Results: It works Hrmm.. Not sure how to attach an image to this report... Errors are a number of lines with NVRM: Xid (PCI:0000:01:00): 13, Graphics Exception: ..... with a number of errors of different types after this.

If the X server does not restart or crashes, there is nothing KDE developers can do. Please report this issue to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/
Have done now, but this has ONLY been a problem since KDE5 so I detect a relationship.
Not sure why the status has changed to resolved, it isn't.

Please also check /var/log/Xorg.0.log* why the X server does not switch to graphics mode. If you are sure a KDE component crashes, please add the backtrace for the crash. For more information, see https://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
No response, changing status. If you have more information, please add a comment.
