In this file: http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/l10n-kf5/templates/messages/frameworks/kconfig5_qt.pot?view=log I need the possibility to translate the term "Bookmarks" twice, once for Okular (document viewer, in the sense of actual "bookmarks") and once for (web browser, in the sense of "webmarks"). The strings are: #: gui/kstandardshortcut.cpp:116 msgctxt "KStandardShortcut|@action" msgid "Add Bookmark" msgstr "" #: gui/kstandardshortcut.cpp:153 msgctxt "KStandardShortcut|@action" msgid "Edit Bookmarks" msgstr "" And here's the long story why I am requesting this change: On the mailing list, I asked the following question: > Add Bookmark > Edit Bookmarks > > Are these bookmarks within a document, or bookmarks as in an internet browser? And got the following answer: > Both of them. These shortcuts can be found in Okular (document viewer) and Konqueror (web browser). This is a problem for my language, because we translate browser bookmarks as "webmarks" and other bookmarks as "bookmarks". So, we have "webmarks" e.g. in Firefox and "bookmarks" e.g. in LibreOffice. What we would like to do is to use the same terminology always, no matter which product it is. So, we need the possibility of translating these terms twice, once for Ocular as "bookmark" and once for Konqueror as "webmark".
P.S. Same problem in http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/l10n-kf5/templates/messages/frameworks/kconfigwidgets5.pot?view=log #: kstandardaction_p.h:91 msgid "&Add Bookmark" msgstr "" #: kstandardaction_p.h:92 msgid "&Edit Bookmarks..." msgstr ""
Based upon the comments for the review request here: https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/121372/#review71585 , it was decided that individual applications should adjust the text as appropriate, otherwise there would be an explosion of potential options that would need to be taken care of. For any application where the different translation is needed, please work with the given application to adjust the translation.
