Gesture pan and zoom are laggy and very slow on krita_x64_2.8.79.21 with HQ filtering, work very well before on krita 2.8.3

Reproducible: Always

Hm, I can't say I can reproduce that on my intel gpu laptop or nvidia gpu desktop. What hardware/driver combination do you have?
Comment 2 Dmitry Kazakov 2015-01-07 13:17:12 UTC
And it is necessary to know what version of openGL is supported by the GPU. To do it, you should do the following:

1) Install DebugView from the official Microsoft site

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896647.aspx

2) Start DebugView
3) Start Krita

In the debugview output you'll see the lines like
"[5756] OpenGL version 4.0 or higher is present."

Copy the whole output and attach it to the bugreport.

Could you also tell me whether it happens with tablet only or with mouse as well?

Can you please get back to us with the info Dmitry asked for (after testing 2.9 b2, which might very well have a fix, if the issue is a difference in panning performance between stylus and mouse).

Hello.

I have a similar problem, running Krita 2.9 on Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.1 ( ASUS N751JK laptop ):

Drawing with tablet in zoomed canvas is sloooooow... There is a huge delay betwen the physical stroke move of my pen on tablet, and the line drawn on screen.
The more i zoom in the canvas, the longer the delay.

This happens only when i draw with my Wacom Intuos 5 M tablet ( pen only, no touch ).
This does not happen if i draw with the mouse.

This slow delay disapear when i go to menu -> settings -> Configure Krita -> Display -> and when i uncheck "OpenGL". But then, the canvas goes crazy ( curious effect of canvas zoomed and shifted on top of the previous unzoomed canvas, or something like that ) each time i zoom in or out. I just have to pan, right after zooming, to retablish the canvas ok. This is highly disturbing when drawing as i zoom in/out all of the time.

What graphics card/driver are you using? It sounds like the problems are somewhere with that combination.

I have an ASUS N751JK with Nvidia GEforce GTX 850M
I use the video card only for gaming in Windows ( dual boot ).

In Mint 17.1, my laptop uses the Intel integrated graphic card:
( I have no idea of how to make Mint use the Nvidia card )

I have installed Krita 2.9.0 but I still couldn'd find any info on how to install Krita 2.9.1

Hum... Any Intel GPU on Linux should be totally fine, that's what I use myself pretty much all the time. Only my desktop has an nvidia. On Mint, the instructions in https://launchpad.net/~dimula73/+archive/ubuntu/krita should work fine to get you the latest version of Krita.

I guess i'll wait a little until 2.9.1 becomes easier and more standardized installation.
Meanwhile, I'll just use 2.8. This version is easy to install within Mint from software installer and no pb.
I'll just miss the new feature: drawing lines quicker way :)

Thanks for quick answers.
Keep the good work !
