When I'm holding stylus within tablet, everything works correctly. But when I lift stylus pen away and back again, cursor is moving but not reacting on button clicking - tried button 1, 2 and 3. After that I'm hovering over any part of program window (on those gray fields) and back to canvas, then everything seems to back to normal. But this should be done without lifting stylus up. As soon as I lift it, issue is happening again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Hold stylus on tablet (has connection). 2. Draw something or click on page with any pen button. 3. Lift stylus pen to lose connection – button can be pressed or not, it doesn't matter. 4. Lower stylus on tablet to get connection. 5. Cursor moves, but don't react on button clicking (has connection). 6. Hover cursor over program window elements (pen needs to have connection with tablet). 7. Back to canvas and click buttons – now it works (still has connection). Actual Results: Hovering cursor over program window elements removes the bug. But it is very uncomfortable and program loses its functionality. I've tried with enable/disable OpenGL, but it has no effect. Expected Results: Cursor button clicks can't be blocked by losing connection pen-tablet. I don't have problem with mouse. Only with tablet. Krita's logs: (I drew something, lift stylus to lose connection, hovered on program elements, then put stylus down and draw sth again) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17541977/tabletevents_aleksandra.log Kirta version 2.8.2 Linux Mint 16 Petra KDE 4.13.0
Hi Aleksandra, Thanks for our report. Could you try updating to a later version of Krita? The latest stable available for Ubuntu (and I hope mint) is 2.8.6, and there's also the development version which has a lot of tablet support fixes, too: https://launchpad.net/~dimula73/+archive/ubuntu/krita
I've tried to change version to later one (in synaptic I can choose between 2.8.2 and 2.7.2), but when I wanted to apply changes, there was an error: "Could not apply changes! Fix broken packages first.". So I left this package and tried with Dmitry Kazakov's PPA (https://launchpad.net/~dimula73/+archive/ubuntu/krita). This one helped. Now this bug does not show up anymore. Well, I need to treat this as a solution. Thank you, Boudewijn.
Thank you for testing the development build!
I switched from development to stable build and then I found this problem. It basically makes the program unusable. Keep an eye on this one :)
Yes -- it's a problem in 2.8, so if it affects you, please use one of the dev builds.
