I'm using notebook with 1366x1024 screen. Whenever I put it into docking station, I want to have it disabled and use 2 monitors 1920x1200, where 1 is set as landscape and one as portrait. KScreen is able to somehow set that up (although plasmashell often segfaults because of that), but fails to save those configs, so whenever I log in again, I have to set it up again. Also, when I take notebook and connect big presentation screen to it with resolution 1024x768, only part of the screen is displayed although screen itself is detected properly. These issues make me switch back to KDE4, where this is flawless and no such issue is encountered. Reproducible: Always
Could you please test with Plasma 5.2.1? There were some bugs in previous versions that caused KScreen to forgot or not being able to restore configuration. Plasma crashes on screen change are mostly gone now too, although there's still room for improvement ;-)

Hello. Issue is still in place. I had to migrate to GNOME because there it works way better. In KF5 switching to docking station or rebooting the system usually ends up with the messed screens which need to be fixed manually. I have no idea why there is such severe regression compared to KDE4 where it worked flawlessly.

I see that Plasma greatly improved. But I still experience hiccups. After reconnecting to dock my Original layout (see attachment) is reset to a bit weird layout (see "Wrong reset layout" attachment). The original layout is good enough for me. I would prefer if top sides of monitors could align (the screen turned by 90 degrees aligns to the bottom instead), but I can live with that.
Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with Plasma 5.25 or 5.26? If it is, please change the status to CONFIRMED when replying, and paste the output of `kscreen-doctor -o` when it's working properly, and then right after you make the bug happen. If not, or if you can't because you no longer use this setup, you can change the status to RESOLVED WORKSFORME. Thanks a lot!
