The maximum resolution of the secondary screen (LCD display) is not detected correctly if the laptop is in the docking station. If the laptop is not in the docking station then the maximum resolution of the secondary screen is detected properly. Means, if I am using the laptop with the docking station the maximum resolution of the secondary display is only 1024X768 that is not so nice. I am also interested in a workaround (I mean set the correct resolution by editing plan files/configuring the system in terminal) :) Regards, Attila Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Connect the secondary display directly into the laptop. The resolution of the secondary screen is correct (the maximum the device can do). 2. Disconnect the secondary screen from the laptop. 3. Put the laptop to the docking station. The resolution the the secondary screen is incorrect (means only 1024x768 and not the maximum the device is capable). Actual Results: Lower display resolution than the device can produce Expected Results: Maximum resolution the device is capable The type of the laptop: HP EliteBook 2530p The type of the docking station: HP 2400 Series Docking Station
Please add the output of "kscreen-console bug" Konsole command.

Got this on a Dell Latitude E7440 with the compatible Dell dock using Arch Linux, kernel version 4.2.3-1-ARCH . KScreen detects my two external 1920x1200 displays (connected with displayport) to *only* be capable of exactly 1920x1080 (in both UI and "kscreen-console bug") . XRandr shows the full story correctly. I'm setting the resolutions from console using xrandr now, but the downside is I'm not getting plasma desktop on every screen, just a black non-interactive background.

This looks very similar to a bug I reported here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354163 In my scenario with a single external 1920x1200 monitor, I don't get black lines. However, I am connecting via vga and using Arandr. This is a somewhat dead bug, but what version of KScreen are you using?
And also duplicate of bug 356505, bug 351025 and bug 346535.

Unfortunatelly I do not have this hardware setup anymore, so I am not able to test it.
