Description Jonathan M Davis 2014-10-15 06:45:32 UTC
For several months now, I have found that when I logout of kde and log back in, many of the konqueror windows restore to the page "about:blank" instead of whatever page or pages that they were on before (be they web pages or directories on the local file system). Some konqueror windows restore correctly, but only ones which I had open before this problem started happening. Any new konqueror windows that I have open when I logout fail to restore when I log back in to KDE and instead open as "about:blank" with only one tab.

I even tried creating an entirely new user on the theory that the problem was with my config files, but the new user has the problem too. None of its konqueror windows ever restore successfully. They all restore to the "about:blank" page. This is so consistent for me that I'm shocked that I can't find any mention of it online anywhere, let alone at in the kde bugtracker - particularly when it affects newly created users. I'm fairly certain that I had this problem before I switched from OpenSuSE back to Arch a few months back (though I'm not 100% certain), so I don't think that it's distro-specific either, and the fact that it happens with a new user should mean that the problem has nothing to do with the config files which I've had for my normal user for most of the lifetime of kde 4. So, I would think that this would be highly reproducible, but the fact that no one else has reported it yet does make me wonder.

Regardless, the fact that I can no longer restore konqueror sessions is _extremely_ annoying, and since it happens with a new user, it definitely looks like it's a bug in konqueror or KDE rather than a problem with my ancient config files. And I'm at a loss for finding a workaround other than bookmarking all of my tabs for all of my sessions before exiting. So, I have no idea what could be happening, but I would _very_ much appreciate it if someone would track this down and fix it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new user
2. Log in to KDE
3. Open some konqueror windows to wherever you like - be they to web pages or local directories.
4. Log out of KDE
5. Log back in to KDE.

Actual Results:
The konqueror windows are restored, but they all have only one tab and are all on the "about:blank" page instead of wherever they were before you logged out.

Expected Results:
The konqueror windows are all restored with the exact same tabs at the exact same places that they were at before you logged out.

I currently have 4.14.1 on my computer, not 4.13.3 as specified, because 4.14.* was not given as an option in the dropdown list, but I'm quite certain that I saw it with 4.13.* before Arch went to 4.14.*.
