I am on a multiple monitor setup with kubuntu plasma5, seems like the shell would get high memory usage alot over 500 MB and my mouse will start stuttering for a while then it will stop... I am on a AMD FX 6300 CPU, Nvidia 660 gtx with driver version 343.22, and I have 8 Gb of DDR3 RAM.. Full Specs http://pcpartpicker.com/user/anex/saved/zYGxFT Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1Fresh install of kubuntu 14.10 with multiple monitors. 2.Open all my working programs 3.Start working Actual Results: plasmashell will occasonally start spiking memory usage and calm down. Expected Results: not hog 500 MB of memory
Can you identify the steps leading to that sudden memory spike? When your mouse starts stuttering, can you check what process is hogging your cpu?
this is old and has resolved its self with updates, thx guys..
This is not resolved with the latest updates Plasmashell using 14.6G out of system memory 15.6G
