Description Sudhir Khanger 2014-09-26 13:37:22 UTC
VLC or YouTube full screen video play blocks screen from going off. PowerDevil 5.0.2 doesn't respect VLC's this request. System will turn of the screen as per the power management settings.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Playing anything on VLC or Youtube
2. Wait for screen to go off.(AC 10 minutes, Battery 5 minutes and low battery 2 minutes)
3.

Actual Results:
Screen goes off even when VLC or Youtube is playing video.

Expected Results:
Screen should not go off when VLC or YouTube is playing video.

$ rpm -qa | grep powerdevil

I cannot recall YouTube actually inhibiting power management but I cannot reproduce this issue with VLC. When I watch a VLC video, the screen stays on and does not dim. Can you reproduce with a more recent PowerDevil version?

@Valerio: That is a separate bug, perhaps PowerDevil is not running and thus does not override a potential systemd automatism.
