Description Glenn 2014-09-12 23:16:57 UTC
I have three investment accounts containing 5-8 mutual funds. Entering transactions in the journal gives me a list of prices, but these prices are not consistent when I prepare a report on the account. Each account balance is reported at month's end, and I have to add a month end price for each fund. My last trade in the fund is not usually at the end of the month, so I have to add price by user. Sometimes, prices are deleted and there seems to be no way to correct the missing prices. Error reports don't make any sense.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. enter transactions in the journal for each fund in the account
2. insert month end prices in the prices data base

3. select report that shows end of month evaluation.

Actual Results:
Seems to pick a prices for some funds that are not consistent with the journal entries. Total value of the accounts does not agree with brokers report for the account.

Expected Results:
Should have used prices consistent with the fund, date and journal

I am considering transfer of my accounting information from Quicken to Kmymoney, but this inconsistency in prices between the journal and reports could be the end.

My Kmymoney version 4.6.4 on Ubuntu 14.04 does not produce multicolumn reports, although such reports are described in the documentation.?

4.6.4 is old and unmaintained. Many changes followed since that version. Please use 4.8 or master version.

I am using 4.8.0 Kmymoney on Linux Mint 18. The month's end reports do not reflect the prices at month's end in the list. I enter my prices by transaction or manually. There seems to be no reason to the prices used in the reports. I never use computer network prices.

I have played with the report date specifications and this does not seem to have any effect on the error.
