Guten Tag. I am also using KOrganizer 4.13.3 under KDE 4.13.3, & over the past several nights have been migrating my Linux Mint 17 Qiana KDE PIM from Thunderbird+Lightning to Kontact. As i am still learning about all its options & settings, i have been struggling with some functions, being unsure if they are Bugs or just my inexperience. One of these problems was almost identical to your error msg posted above, & today, by pure good luck only, i found the solution ... ironically after i logged into this site to post a Bug Report. I hope the following might also help you.

This was what i was trying to do: "duplicate Calendar Events by Copy/Paste".

This was what always happened: "error message "Error while trying to create calendar item. Error was: Unknown collection for '737'.", upon my Paste attempts.

This is what i found: Whilst reading https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72531 "Bug 72531 - An easy way to move events between calendars?", whose subject title was not a good match for any of my issues, i was stunned to read "Easy way:
1. Copy
2. Paste
( If it doesn't work, go to settings and uncheck the option that says to use the default calendar instead of asking )" ... then i was even more astonished when i made that Settings edit & found that magically i CAN now Copy & Paste Events nicely!! I hope this also works for you.

Unfortunately i have not yet found a solution to another problem [the edit above did not help here], being "Trying to create new Calendar Event by drag/drop a Task from the Task Summary list at LHS of the Calendar pane, does not ever give an actual error msg, but simply results in nothing at all happening once the mouse button is released at the desired place on the Calendar." This is extremely frustrating, & i hope i can solve it.

Steffie.

The same happens to me, every time I try to cut and paste an item:
"Fehler beim Erstellen des Kalendereintrags. Die Fehlermeldung lautet: Unknown collection for '54'."
Cut & Paste worked fine until I made my last upgrade to 13.2. Do I have to port my old calendar anyhow?

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of korganizer (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
