Description Josef Kufner 2014-09-08 12:06:46 UTC
When contact list is a bit more populated, nested groups can help a lot.

Nested groups are described in XEP-0083: Nested Roster Groups -- http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0083.html

Some Jabber clients support this, for exaple tkabber, and it causes no trouble in clients which does not support it.

Reproducible: Always

Thanks for the report.

So the way things work is that all IM network related code (including XEPs) is done by the Telepathy project (that's not us) and as such this would first need to be implemented there.

Personally I don't think they would accept such request, but you can always try at bugs.freedesktop.org - product Telepathy, component Gabble.

Once there is upstream support, we might consider implementing it in our client, but at this point it's just not possible, sorry.
