- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Placing widgets on the desktop. Specifically, the crash occurred when the 'Hardware info' widget was placed.

- Unusual behavior:
The display whent blank (black screen) for a second just after the widget was placed.

- Custom settings of the application:
The desktop contained at the moment of the crash: CPU monitor, CPU temperature monitor, Disk activity monitor (stopped), Bouncy ball. Due to the application's behavior, and given that I have been having difficulty setting up my video card's drivers, it may be possible that the crash is related.
