Hello,

Since our customer "progressively" ( :-( ) changed encoding of emails (emmited by his Troubleshooting Information System - TIS) from UTF8 to windows cp1250, all emails comming from this TIS system are broken like this:
Subject (correct):
76894 - založení záznamu (Ztráta zobrazení ACC2 auidp184)

The Czech language punctuation is broken and emails are not readable.
This change was made maybe two years ago. I'm using gentoo and archlinux systems.

Regards :-)

There is no cp1250 in View - Encoding (I have it shown in CZ as menu item "Pohled" submenu item "Nastavení kódování") (and kmail does not respect LANG=en_US LC_ALL=en_US kmail from konsole) in version 4.14.2.
There is plenty of other encodings including an iso-8859-2 and a cp1251 but no cp1250 and some of e-mails received are cripled due to. Some senders not heard about UTF-8 yet :-(.
Can I help anyhow to get cp1250 to the list?
Thank you.

I have a chance to change the view encoding into the cp1250. There are many possible encodings there. But the problem is that any choice of that menu doesn't have any effect. That is because the view content contains only basic ascii characters, so there is nothing to convert. The quoted-printable content of the email body is displayed in the view as is. I see the quoted-printable content in the email body view (two pseudocharacters instead of one encoding-dependent character). And it is the problem of mine. :-)
Maybe the bug name in summary is not correct. IMO there is some problem there in the email header. It causes that the email body is displayed in the view as is (quoted-printable as plain). It wouldn't be related directly only to the cp1250 encoding.
K9mail and thunderbird don't have this problem.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

I'm sorry. I've forgotten to close it (Do I have permissions to do it?). It works again (on all my platforms) since I've migrated my desktop to plasma5. So it should be closed.
