Description w-mergler 2014-07-30 09:44:56 UTC
Import of pictures via Import Function is impossible.
cameras (Fuji IX, Canon Powershot S3IS) are detected, preview of pictures is shown.
Download to a file or folder does not take place.

Program ShowFoto import works correct.

The problem started after the last digikam update at July.24.2014

Showfoto do not import file from camera.

File imported from these kind of cameras are processed through GPhoto2 driver.

Do you see ImportUI from digiKam processed files (look on progress bar from status bar) ?

Do you see file copied in dedicated folders from your computer using a file manager as Dolphin for ex ?

Hallo Gilles,

first thank you for your quick answer.

I have done some experiments with importing from camera and saving in
folders.
It actually seems that digikam has problems with reading folder or file
names, her
especially with a mutuation-letter (ASCII 132-รค, code 250, German).

I can handle this name with dolphin without any problems. If I open digikam
it shows this name but does not do any action with it.
Deleting the name in dolphin dos not have any influence on digikam`s
album list. Also uninstall and reinstall of digikam had no influence, the
name was again displayed.
The question for me is now where (folder, entry or program module) stores
digikam this information and how can I delete it.

Friendly Yours

Wolfgang

This problem is not reproducible with last 5.0.0
I close this file now. Re-open it if necessary.
