Compared to the former desktop search configuration module the new baloo configuration is missing some essential options:

1. There is no file filter to allow to exclude certain files by name.
2. There is no mime filter to allow to exclude certain mime types.
3. There is no option to include folders (for folders outside of home, e.g. shared folders, /media,...)

Have a look at kcm_baloo_advanced, it allows for mime filters and file filters. Available in AUR for archlinux:
