Created attachment 87797 [details] pdf file in the format 4:3 and scanned printouts thereof in okular and evince I often have to create talk slides in the format 4:3 (e.g. in LibreOffice Impress) which is a ratio different from the paper media (DIN A4) in my printer. The problem is: When printing the pdf versions of the 4:3 format slides with Okular the scaling (for making the page fit the physical medium) seems to be broken and some parts are cut off (while others have extra whitespace) instead of reasonably fitting (here: shrinking) the page to the size of the medium (see attachment) which works fine in both Evince and Acroread but not Okular. Another issue is that I cannot find in Okular neither the print option "fit to page" nor to disable the option which is possible in Evince and sometimes very useful. If important: I am not effected by bug 334653 Relevant (Arch Linux) packages: cups 1.7.4-1 poppler 0.26.2-1 evince 3.12.1-1 acroread 9.5.5-4 kdegraphics-okular 4.13.2-1 <-- this contains okular 0.19.2
Which cups version do you have?
> cups 1.7.4-1
I am currently running KDE 4.14.6 (Okular 0.21.3) with CUPS 2.0.2 (Arch Linux) and the problem still remains. If I need to provide more information for further analysis please let me know.
Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists. If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved.
I have tried this with okular 23.04.3 today. My test was to print a pdf document formatted as a single A0 page in landscape. It correctly scaled down to fit an A4 page using the options "Fit to print area" or "Fit to full page". With the latter I lost some information that was rendered beyond the margins this printer could physically print to, but that's normal and expected behaviour. So in my testing this feature works (but it's not my bug report).
Original reporter please reopen if you still have the problem.
