Description Thomas Arend 2014-07-17 19:33:38 UTC
Quick filtering after "message text", "subject" or "sender" ... has no effect.
Comment 1 Till Schäfer 2014-09-23 13:34:58 UTC
I can confirm this error in 4.14.1 (gentoo packages). The one thing i can reliable reproduce here is:

- searching with the filter "from", "Subject" or "BCC" searches the complete header and not only the desired field. E.g.: i have a mail titled "Re: Hotel" from "Max" and i find this mail regardless which filter i set, if i type the keyword "hotel" or "max".
- the filter "message text" filters the also searches the header (From, To, Subject, etc)

@ Reporter or Admin: can you update the affected version to 4.14.1?

@Reporter or Admin: One more thing: The subject should be more specific. Suggestion: "Quick Search filters "Subject", "From", "Message Text" and "BCC" do search the complete header

still valid for 5.3.1
Comment 4 Denis Kurz 2017-01-08 17:42:14 UTC
Reproduced in 5.4.0 as described in Comment 1
Comment 5 Till Schäfer 2017-12-15 02:08:17 UTC
almost fixed in 5.7.0. Only "body" does not find anything. other fields work as expected.
Comment 6 Christoph Feck 2018-01-02 16:58:02 UTC
I am sure Quick Search is just a filter for the message list, which only contains the header information. It cannot work on the data of the message body.
